Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2)
Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidizer and is used as a bleaching agent. It is an universal bleaching agent and can be employed for wool, silk as well as cotton. It is specially suited to the bleaching of union fabrics containing both cotton and wool or silk. Here different recipe are given for different package form and machine..
H2O2
Bleaching Recipe of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) for Different Purposes:

H2O2 bleaching in package form (for yarn dyed, check, stripe fabric):
  • M/C are used mainly for treating yarns & loose cotton
  • Before starting bleaching a pretreatment is sometimes carried outs consisting of circulation through the package foe solution of sodium tri-poly phosphate & some wetting agent at 95 foe 5-10 mins.
  • This treatment removes surface impurities & prevents deposition of Ca & Mg salt in the package.
Recipe for package form bleaching (H2O2):
Sodium silicate
2-7 g/l
NaOH
0.5 g/l
Na2CO3
1.8 g/l
H2O2 (35%)
4.5 g/l
Wetting agent
1 g/l
Temp
is raised to 90 in 20-30 min & maintained for 1-2 hours
M:L
1:5 to 1:10

Recipe for high temp bleaching:
Sodium silicate
4 g/l
NaOH
2-5 g/l
Na2CO3
1 g/l
H2O2 (35%)
4.5 g/l
M:L
1:5 to 1:10

Procedure:
Temp is first raise to 80 in 20 mins
Then the m/c is closed
The temp is elevated to 120-130 & maintained at this level for further 20 mins

Bleaching of cotton with H2O2 in a winch m/c (recipe):
Sodium silicate

NaOH
0.5 g/l
H2O2 (35%)
1-2 g/l
Wetting agent
1 g/l
Temp
90-95
Time
1-2 hour
M:L
1:5 to 1:10

Bleaching of cotton with H2O2 in a jig m/c (recipe):
Sodium silicate
4-10 g/l
NaOH
1-1.5 g/l
 H2O2 (35%)
1.5-3.5 g/l
Wetting agent
